Every tournament that is run overseas and here in Australia uses some form of Composition. It is effectively attempting to penalise people for taking for example: minimum troops, and maximum Heavy Support, Fast Attack and Elites.

Also there is no bias towards Imp Guard, ok sure yes i play Imp Guard, but i also play Space Marines, Orks and Eldar. Well used to play as the game system no longer interests me.

Also, i believe due to the restriction on making minimum troops forcing Imp Guard players to take 4 squads as opposed to the absolute minimum.

So to york, you may think im giving Imperial Guard a hand up or bonus, but the truth is im forcing one of the few armies that can be truly stingy when it comes to troop selections to take something they may not tactically wish to take.

Now, i believe the Composition is rather tame. The other ones i have reviewed are far nastier. And as far as the rest of the rules go. They worked beautifully in the past, and with a few tweaks will work equally well in the current edition.
Now most of the players that attend the club at this time, dont know that the club ran very successful tournaments in the past, and for the last 10 years i was the main organiser behind those tournaments, albeit the last few years due to my absence.
Now dont be disheartened by the rules if you feel they are overly hard on your army. The rules will change, and be re-tweaked as the club runs more tournaments. Im already planning another tournament for later in the year. The more we run, the more people come to the club and more precise the rules become.

i know you don't play anymore thats why you don't know the rules... would you let a AFL referee in a soccer game
thats why you can't tell the differents between KP and VP

ok i can understand characters not being allowed, there op as $%^&

but

whats wrong with normal 5th ed standard rules, it has been play tested and lots of time been put in to refine them.

btw nice work, i would still enter the tourny but i cant make any weekend for the next 3 months. it does look like its gonna b good fun. if you advertise at comics NT u may be able to get more interest.

see page 300 of rulebook. KP's unfortunately in a tournament environment, dont give a clear cut result to many games. Especially objective based games. VP's are very simple.

Player 1, "Is that your dead pile?"
Player 2, "yep"
Player 1, "how many points in the dead pile?"
player 2, "ummm, lemme work it out.....1352 points"
Player 1, "sweet"

Also if you want to talk about the rules, please move it to appropriate thread, and stop using the attendees list.
